May 15, 2007some thoughts to chew on as I leave the country.
some quotes from Rev Jerry Falwell
"If you're not a born-again Christian, you're a failure as a human being." I hope I live to see the day when, as in the early days of our country, we won't have any public schools. The churches will have taken them over again and Christians will be running them. What a happy day that will be! -- Rev Jerry Falwell, America Can Be Saved, 1979. AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals. -- Jerry Falwell (attributed: source unknown) The idea that religion and politics don't mix was invented by the Devil to keep Christians from running their own country. -- Rev Jerry Falwell, Sermon, July 4, 1976 The Jews are returning to their land of unbelief. They are spiritually blind and desperately in need of their Messiah and Savior. -- Jerry Falwell, Listen, America! Grown men should not be having sex with prostitutes unless they are married to them. -- Jerry Falwell, on CNN's Crossfire, May 17, 1997 I do not believe the homosexual community deserves minority status. One's misbehavior does not qualify him or her for minority status. Blacks, Hispanics, women, etc., are God-ordained minorities who do indeed deserve minority status. -- Rev Jerry Falwell, USA Today Chat, quoted from The Religious Freedom Coalition, "The Two faces of Jerry Falwell" AIDS is the wrath of a just God against homosexuals. To oppose it would be like an Israelite jumping in the Red Sea to save one of Pharoah's chariotters. -- Rev Jerry Falwell

October 5, 2006they all spoke at once, they did
You want to make a small wager?* I'll bet that thousands of people last night thought that "Fish Biscuit" would be a good/funny name for a band, and that 3/4 of those people thought they were alone in thinking that.
Know what I'm saying? Side bet*: fishbiscuit.com/net/org(s) are taken, probably parked with a godaddy holding page. Side bet* #2: these same people make the same stormwatch 200(x) joke every time it rains in LA *friendly wager worth no monetary value.

January 13, 2006day 11
That's right folks, it's day 11 of my 10-Day Fast, which means... THE MASTER CLEANSE IS OVER.
Well, the lemon/maple syrup/cayenne pepper/water is over, as is the bentonite and psyllium husks, and (thank god), the salt water flushes are over. BLEEEEEEEEUUUUUURRRGH. I am taking the next couple of days to reacclimate my digestive system to its job: digesting things. It hasn't been doing jack for the past 10 days, and so to give it a xl pizza with all the fixins, well... probably not the smartest idea. The fast itself was difficult at times (especially the first 2-3 days, jeebus that was brutal), but overall, it was a lot easier than I expected. I had lots of energy, hyperaware senses of vision, smell, and hearing, and definite clarity of mind. (actually somewhat odd) I broke my addictions and cravings for sugars and junky processed foods, and proved to myself that I could stick it out (unlike my 3 friends who punked out within the first 3 days). Where's the shabu-shabu at?!?!?

December 19, 2005moving.
my lease is finally up on the apartment that i can't stand, so i'm moving. i don't know if it's living next-door to my loud, naggin, persian apartment manager or the upstairs neighbors listening to unfortunate dance music at all hours of the night and morning, but i can't fucking stand it anymore.
coincidentally, i'd been missing living in the 323 a bit lately and my friend has a room for rent at his mid-century pad in k-town, so it all kind of fell into my lap pretty quickly. headphonic has some pictures of the sitting area up on his site (see below). i'm moving in a month and a half or so, so watch out 323, here i come. those of you who used to read my blogger/blogspot blog will recall my on-again, off-again, love/hate relationship with the 323 and will probably find this amusing.
i was reading one of my favorite blogs (tremble.com) to find that todd levin is also moving/about to move. a line i thought was funny: "my apartment is a crowded mess of flattened boxes from a neighborhood liquor store, packing tape, and Diesel jeans with unfortunate denim rinses that need to be donated to Goodwill post-haste". amen. http://www.tremble.com/scribblins/000623.html
