day 11

That's right folks, it's day 11 of my 10-Day Fast, which means... THE MASTER CLEANSE IS OVER.

Well, the lemon/maple syrup/cayenne pepper/water is over, as is the bentonite and psyllium husks, and (thank god), the salt water flushes are over. BLEEEEEEEEUUUUUURRRGH. I am taking the next couple of days to reacclimate my digestive system to its job: digesting things. It hasn't been doing jack for the past 10 days, and so to give it a xl pizza with all the fixins, well... probably not the smartest idea.

The fast itself was difficult at times (especially the first 2-3 days, jeebus that was brutal), but overall, it was a lot easier than I expected. I had lots of energy, hyperaware senses of vision, smell, and hearing, and definite clarity of mind. (actually somewhat odd) I broke my addictions and cravings for sugars and junky processed foods, and proved to myself that I could stick it out (unlike my 3 friends who punked out within the first 3 days).

Where's the shabu-shabu at?!?!?

I'm on day 10 and counting down the lemons!! Dreaming of spicy marinated grilled tofu and black rice, but even looking longingly at the vegetable soup recipe. The lemon tree is looking rather sparse. I do feel exceedingly wonderful.

Hey, thanks for providing some of the inspiration! I feel amazing, mentally and physically, even more so than usual. I think I'm going to make it an annual mid-January feat of strength. Well, drink up for me tonight since I still have a juice day to go.

Was there any associated weight loss? I've thought about the master cleanser over the past few years but I'm afraid I'll disappear. Good to hear that you're doing well and healthy. I drop off the 'net for a few weeks and everything's different -- I have to go figure out how this site works...

well, i did it as a kick-off to a healthier year all 'round. i started eating a lot healthier afterwards, that's where any weight loss came from. i maybe lost a little tiny bit of weight during the cleanse, but most of it was afterwards, and that was probably from my change in diet.
